The well-traveled owners of this Pacific Heights one-bedroom wanted it to reflect the ambiance of their favorite upscale hotels. At the same time, the space needed to feel distinctly personal during their weekend visits to the city.
Our approach for this complete renovation was to keep the look simple and embrace the stunning city and bay views. Crisp lines throughout respect the building’s mid-century architecture. Signature Hermes pear wood for wall treatments and cabinetry provides warm elegance. The original small kitchen was opened up to enhance light and flow, and a balcony was enclosed to expand the living and dining areas. Window soffits mask built-in shades to keep walls spare and clean.
Subtle colors throughout maintain focus on the outdoor views and soften the angles of contemporary furnishings. Neutral tones of taupe and gray offer refinement and warmth, while a signature rug adds a splash of color. Recessed LEDs reflect light from the ceiling to create different moods.
This design provides the experience of staying in a beautiful hotel – at home. Comfortable, luxurious, and inviting … a perfect fit for how this couple lives.
